Fallen Angels

Seth walked in a few minutes late to the meeting in Antioch. They hadn’t started yet, but they did work their way from Alex’s living room, back to the meeting area on the patio. Seth shuffled behind them and found a seat at the end of the table next to Chris. She smiled and motioned to Seth he had something on his cheek.

Seth chuckled, wiping it off. “Mashed potato from KFC. There’s a half-eaten bowl in my truck.”

Brianna reached across Chris and handed Seth a bottle of water. “You’re just in time. The extra people slowed us down a little.”

“Thanks. Yeah, I haven’t seen this many people here before. Lots of new faces.”

Erica leaned forward on the table and injected. “With the frequency of events in the skies lately, more people keep coming.” She pointed to a basket of eggs. “Make sure you take some of those home with you.”

Usually Erica told everyone to swing by her place for fresh farm eggs anytime. This month she brought several dozen. In fact, Seth noticed an abundance of baked goods and sweets, obviously quite time consuming to make. He shook his head. “It’s kind of troubling to know this is the result of top students deep in thought over what’s happening.”

Don pointed to the food. “I’ll take one of those breads and a dozen eggs. We’ll divide it up after class.”

Alex tried to start the meeting. “Okay, okay. Everyone…”

Erica helped by dinging her glass with a spoon. “Everyone settle down.”

Alex continued. “Unfortunately, today my DVD player isn’t working, so we’re going to do a recap together on the fallen angels.”

“Right on!” Seth said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

Alex looked at the device. “Oh. That’s cool. My son has one of those.”

“I’m going to access my database of questions and answers. I have a lot on the fallen angels.”

“How many questions do you have now?”

Seth gleamed. “I passed fourteen hundred last month!”

Brianna raised her eyebrows. “I remember when you only had five hundred… It was even on your website. You were so happy. ‘Halfway there!’ you said.”

Seth replied. “There would be more, but I got sidetracked on a few projects and the daily realities of life. Anyway, I’m back in the saddle now. Alex, do you mind if I go to my website on your wireless network?”

“Sure.”

Seth moved around to the front of the tables. “Here. All I have to do is get online, and go to my website. On the right side of that page is a button to open the database. Seth clicked the login button, and walked in front of them, showing them the home page. “It doesn’t get any easier than this. These seven buttons are the different colors of the rainbow. Each one leads to a list of questions related to its color.”

Brianna grabbed Seth’s wrist and adjusted her glasses to get a better look at the phone screen. “What are the colors for?”

“The first button is Red. Red means the question deals with something critical for us to grasp in the end times. The orange button means an important point. Yellow means to use caution, because there is a difference from what mainstream churches teach. The middle green button is for something churches disagree about, but is a relatively safe difference regarding end times.”

Chris added. “Ah, the things we agree to disagree.”

Everyone laughed.

Seth shook his finger in the air. “I didn’t say they are okay, and safe doesn’t mean they can be disregarded, but as a color coded priority this database is targeted toward our day. The color assignments would be completely different if we lived in the time of Genesis. Anyway, under the green button we have a blue one. These are questions where most churches agree on a similar answer. The indigo button is for generic biblical facts, like the dates of kings and things. Finally, the violet is for other sources. It could be an opinion, a song, or a website. It could be anything.”

Alex tried to sum it up. “So it’s like a thermometer of Bible questions?”

Seth spun and pointed at him. “Yes! That is exactly what it is. You simply press the button of the temperature, and you will see a list of those questions. Here. Let me show you. I’ll press the red button.”

Seth held the phone for everyone to see, and pressed the red button. “Here’s a list of all the red questions. In addition, right here across the top we have our colored buttons: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Click them anytime for their list.”

Erica’s confusion turned to a smile. “I see. So if you click the yellow button on top…”

Seth turned and moved closer to her. “The yellow button will refresh the page with all the yellow questions.”

“Who assigns the color?” Erica asked.

Seth shrugged his shoulders. “Right now I do. I like using the colors because I think it helps some people, like me. However, you don’t have to use the colors. This is a database, so you can search on any field. There might be a fallen angel question coded under any color.”

Chris asked. “This is cool. Where did you get your questions?”

“Everywhere.” Seth pointed at the television. “Some are from what I hear being asked at the chapel. Some are from the forums. Some are from people who write in.”

Erica tapped her pencil on the table. “How do you know you got the right answer?”

“I always ask for verification on sensitive issues, and there’s a deeper administration side. It allows other people to add their comments. I review them and pull together my best understanding of the answer.”

“Wow. I’m really impressed. Who types this in?” Felicia asked.

“I do.” Seth laughed. “That’s why it’s taking me so long. But hey, a scribe can’t delegate his duties.”

Erica asked. “A scribe?”

Seth held his hand up to stop her thoughts. “Not like that. I’m surely not writing anything new, or anything considered prophetic. I’m just trying to chew on the differences resulting from our confused denominations. That’s why I’m very careful to call it my homework. Believe me, it gets corrected a lot.”

Everyone laughed.

“Good move.” She said. “That way you can update your positions as you learn. Anyone who thinks they know it all has absolutely no clue about the Bible.”

A mixture of amen’s and laughter filled the air.

Seth scrolled through the list of questions. “Okay, here’s an orange question to start us off. What is the Hebrew name for the fallen angels in Genesis 6?” He held the phone for the group to see. “I just need to click the button next to it, and the page changes to the detailed question and answer.”

Chris nodded. “Very nice.”

“It says here the original word for Fallen Angel is Nephilium. It comes from the Hebrew prime Napha which means fallen. It also says they came here in their spiritual body. Not a spirit, but a spiritual body. They had a 3-D physical presence that looked and felt like our flesh bodies. They were not born through the womb of woman. Instead, they appeared as full-grown adults, with full mental capabilities. Humans, on the other hand, are born with zero knowledge. We spend the rest of our lifetime trying to develop less than ten percent of our brain. With the advantage of full knowledge, when the fallen angels came it was very easy for them to seduce women. The resulting children were hybrids who became giants, or the Geber, which are the offspring from the Nephilium.”

Erica chimed in. “Does Goliath ring a bell?”

Everybody chuckled.

Seth pointed out. “That would be from the second influx.” He pointed at the screen. “Anyway, right here below the comments are the scriptures used to generate the answer. The documentation for this answer came from the good old King James Version of the Bible, and it shows Genesis chapter six, verses one though four.”

“I like it.” Don took notes on his napkin.

“Let’s try a different question. Here is a good one… ‘How do we know the fallen angels are not here right now?’”

Chris looked closely at the phone. “What does it say?”

Seth cleared his throat. “It says Satan has come here several times in the past. His last physical visit happened during the temptation of Christ in the desert, and when Peter tried to defend Christ beyond what was written would happen, Jesus told Satan to get behind Him. He doesn’t show up again until Revelation, so I’m of the opinion from that point on he has been in prison where he is guarded by Michael. The book of Jude also gives an outstanding description of the fallen angels, and locks in how they are currently captive. The fallen angels may be held in chains with Satan now, but they are waiting to be released in the final days.”

“Put your helmets on people. It won’t be long!” Erica said.

Seth clicked back to the list. “Here’s another related question. It’s a yellow one. ‘The seven thousand fallen angels who follow Satan die, but when does this happen?”

“Seventh trump!” Everybody said in unison.

“Right on.” Seth pushed the yellow button. “The answer points to Revelation chapter eleven. It says when the seventh trump sounds they are destroyed instantly. It also points to the nineteenth chapter, just before the Millennium, where both the role of antichrist and the governmental system will be cast into the lake of fire. At the very same time, the fallen angels go too. Therefore, they will not participate in the Millennium. At the end of the Millennium Satan must be granted a short season, but he'll be on his own, and we will have our full knowledge back. Unfortunately he will still be convincing to some.”

Felicia asked. “Any other good red ones?”

“Sure.” Seth smiled. “How about this? ‘How do I know for sure that I’m a born again Christian?’”

“Ooooooo…” Everybody joined in.

Seth read the answer. “If you are here, you were born again. However, the ‘born again’ most people refer to is taken from a mistranslated scripture. In the Strong's Concordance, look up the word ‘again’. Follow down until you get to John chapter three. You will see the words ‘born again’. Next to them is a reference to the Greek word they translated. It’s word number 509. Flip to the Greek dictionary in the back of the concordance and find 509. You will see it clearly should have been translated ‘born from above’, and not ‘born again’.”

Felicia held his finger up. “To be born again is often taught as a personal epiphany, or a religious experience.”

Don agreed. “It supposedly brings one into a level of enlightened being.”

Seth shrugged his shoulders. “I think it’s fair to say when we come to spiritual maturity, it makes us distinctly different from how we used to think. That ‘feeling’ you can get in church, some call it a born again experience, but the scriptures say born from above. That gives a distinction from those who were not born from above. Meaning the ones who came here directly…the fallen angels. They refused birth, and came as adults. Salvation is not available to these souls because they came directly. You have to be born in order to start as an innocent infant.”

Don said. “That’s a pretty solid summary.”

Seth replied. “I know some of the answers may seem repetitive, but each of the questions address a different slice of the answer. I mean… there are many different questions about the fallen angels. If I used the same canned answer for every question, it wouldn’t take long to become dogma, and that leads to spin. Nevertheless, if I address the points raised in each question, we can generate a collective perspective of the big picture. Any individual slices that don’t fit are easily weeded out.”

Felicia nodded. “I see what you’re doing. The question about being born again shares common traits with the fallen angels, but also with the three earth ages, pre-destination, and all those other things. So each piece fitting in its own picture must also fit in the other pictures it’s related too. Right?”

Seth nodded with a big smile. “Right. It’s just cross-referencing. Most churches have doctrine that can’t stand this test. You’ll also notice below each answer I use the comments area for a chance to keep notes or comment freely. For the ‘born again’ question I commented how Jesus clarified in verse five that one must be born of the ‘water’. Some say He’s talking about baptism, but I would rather ask what's the last sign before giving birth? The water breaks. Broken water equals an innocent mind and an infant body. Remember when the two angels visited Lot? God sent them as full-grown adults. They didn’t grow up in a local town and go visit because it was time. They were sent and appeared that night. The same goes for the fallen angels. These guys are warring against God, and any one of them is smarter than all of us put together. I wouldn’t take them lightly.”

Everybody applauded.

The group chatted for a while longer. The subject bounced from politics, to medical care, and even a little about the best way to make the starter bread that Erica brought.

They started to pick up their things to go home when Erica tapped on her glass to get everyone’s attention. She pulled a handful of CDs from her bag, and started to hand them out.

Don laughed. “More parting gifts?”

Erica shrugged her shoulders. “This is a pretty interesting disk I think you’ll like. It will play in any DVD player. If you have a game machine like an X-Box or WII, it has additional features.”

Brianna asked. “What is it?”

Erica shook her head. “I haven’t looked at it yet. I got them from a couple of young men yesterday.”

Felicia nudged her with his elbow. “Young men? Sure!”

Everyone chuckled.

Erica continued. “It was really weird. I just finished gathering eggs, and from around the corner these two guys walked up. One had a Bible. You know I love to play dumb and let these guys run around a bit before sinking their theories.”

Felicia interjected. “Yeah. You should see her hit them with questions she knows they can’t answer. Usually within ten minutes they’re the ones taking notes.”

“Usually.” She emphasized. “This time it was different. They didn’t have any materials to hand out. One was kind of short. The other one stood much taller, with a kinder and gentler persona. They were both clean cut and well dressed, but they didn’t dress alike.”

Alex asked. “What church did they come from?”

She tried to explain. “I couldn’t nail it at the time. These guys were different. I only got to ask a few questions, and you know what? They answered them with our answers! I was the one standing with my mouth hanging open. They asked if I was satisfied with their context? I told them that so far they made the grade, but our opponents know this much as well.”

“Touché!” Felicia chimed in.

Brianna pushed for more. “Then what?”

Erica paused. She held her palms open in front of her and slowly looked up. “The short guy opened his Bible.” She looked into their eyes. “There were no pages. It was just a bright light. I could barely see. He reached in and pulled out these CDs. He told me the season is upon us and we are to prepare. He told me to hand these out at our next meeting.”

“I don’t know…” Chris rubbed her chin. “Maybe it was the reflection on the CDs?”

Erica shook her head. “No way. Look at your CD. It has a white sleeve. There is no reflection. Besides, as soon as he closed the book the bright light disappeared, and I was holding the CD’s in my hand… same sunlight.”

“How do you know they were from the good side?” Seth asked.

Erica turned to him. “I’ve been with the Chapel for over two decades. I’m very familiar with the subtle differences in the air. Every hair on my neck is fine-tuned, like a radar. I also know the feeling one gets from the Holy Spirit. So I just have to say discernment. You can equate that with an educated guess… but you know my education.”

Seth apologized. “Sorry, I wasn’t questioning you. I just remember one time when I was going to church in Tahoe. During a service, I was hit with an emotional wave. It came while we were singing. With each verse, another wave hit me. It was warm, soothing. It went real deep, and it was very emotional. I didn’t see anything bright, but I had to stop singing. If I would of opened my mouth I would have cried out loud.”

Felicia patted Seth on the back. “I think a lot of people have similar experiences.”

Seth turned to Felicia. “But the church I went to is one of the largest proponents of the rapture doctrine today. I don’t know if I experienced that moment so I could see God even works there, or if I experienced it to see how convincing our opponent really is?”

“And?” Alex asked. “What do you think?”

Seth smiled. “I think I’m glad I’m a student, and not a judge!”

Everyone laughed.

Erica continued. “Okay. That’s why I said this is an educated guess. Anyway, I’m confident in my opinion of these guys.”

Erica handed a CD to Alex. He took it and placed it inside his Bible. “How did they know we were meeting? Is someone monitoring our email again?”

“I’m not sure.” She continued to hand them out.

Seth joked. “Let’s not forget… Everything is monitored.”

Erica added. “Even us. I have to believe the events of earth are being closely watched by the powers that are arguing over our souls.”

“Ooooooooo. Scary!” Chris mocked.

People said their goodbyes and exchanged a few supplies. Seth worked his way out, saying a quick goodbye as he passed the different little groups. Once outside he jumped in his truck and left for home.
