Judas Iscariot

Did he kill himself?

2) He knew too much.

When Judas told them he knew Jesus was innocent, they told him to go away... They didn't care. They reached their goal of getting Jesus arrested.

Matthew 27: 4

Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

When Judas threw the silver back they knew he was no longer in the agreement. He knew too much. Judas was found cut open and his insides had fallen out.

Acts 1: 18

Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

That's a little hard to do when you're choking on a rope. I would add that if he was remotely suffering from the guilt described above he would have fallen very quickly to them.

My personal opinion is that they strung him up and cut him open.
