Atheists Say
Christianity; an athiests perspective.
Christianity; The popular belief that a celestial Jewish baby who is also his own father, born from a virgin mother, died for three days so that he could ascend to heaven on a cloud and then make you live forever only if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood and telepathically tell him you accept him as your lord & master so he can remove an evil force from your spiritual being that is present in all humanity because an immoral woman made from a man's rib was hoodwinked by a talking reptile possessed by an malicious angel to secretly eat forbidden fruit from a magical tree.
11) that is present in all humanity
Good versus evil.
An evil force is not present in all humanity, or Jesus would have failed before Mary's water broke. Evil is not part of the soul. It's an outside influence that affects us in a negative way. The balance to that is the Holy Spirit which affects us in a positive way. This earth age in the flesh is relatively short, but make no mistake it is indeed the war of all time. It's for your soul. The results are eternal, and these two forces are doing their best to guide you.
Ephesians 6: 12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We are wrestling, meaning we are making choices. We are all gifted with free will. In order for that to be true it can't just be a selection from several good will choices. It has to be from all choices, and that includes bad ones. The truth is that given the right circumstances some souls will choose to do good, while others choose to do evil. That is our test. It can happen secularly (and you can reconcile in the Millennium), or you can get acquainted with the plan (and secure your spot today).
Some will follow the Lord, and others will go a different direction. Everyone is free to do as they choose. Everyone is free to learn from as they choose. That's why we were told to test what we learn, and be careful who we follow.
1 John 4: 1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Evil is ever present, but that just means it is here. It does not mean it is in every human. It is here, and we are to watch out for it, and those under it's influence. God will equip you with what you need to overcome if you tune in sincerely with your heart, and do your best to catch up to what's going on.
1 John 4: 4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
We all face life's choices. Temptation is the bait. If the fish knew it was a lure he wouldn't strike. We are as fish in these flesh body, so ready to take any bait. But God's strength is greater than the temptation. He proved that when Satan tempted him in the desert. He showed us how to handle it.
Ephesians 6: 16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
These fiery darts are lures of temptation from the enemy who is trying to make you stumble. It could be in a bad habit, or something you did only once. It could be something you're struggling with, or doctrine you're professing in church. Be careful in church because false doctrine claims more than pure evil.
Job could have avoided a ton of trouble if he didn't listen to his church friends who thought they knew so much. After 37 chapters God called him on it:
Job 38: 2
Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
Who are you listening to Job? Darkeneth counsel, words without knowledge? That's a heavy charge. Evil isn't always blatant. The most subtle will tickle your ear in church, and evil is always on the hunt.
1 Peter 5: 8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Don't put yourself in a position to be on that menu. Sadly, war has casualties. Some people will overcome, and some people will succumb. That is the reality and the depth of becoming flesh.
Romans 6: 23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
